Walk and Talk Counselling
There is lots of research about the mental health benefits of spending time in nature.
Walk and Talk sessions take place in Queens Park, Crewe and allow clients to experience these benefits during therapy.
Walk and talk sessions are not currently available.
Can everyone access walk and talk sessions?
Unfortunately, there are a small number of clients who won’t be able to access walk and talk sessions due to mobility difficulties and access to the locations where this is offered.
For this reason, anyone looking to access walk and talk sessions will have a free, telephone consultation where we can make sure it is right for you before we start. This also gives you the opportunity to ask me any questions about counselling and how I work to make sure I am the right person for you.
For more details on the areas I will ask about, please contact me and I will send you further information as well as my current availability.
Booking an appointment
Once we have had our initial, free telephone consultation and checked walk and talk sessions are suitable you will be able to book your first session, either during the call or afterwards via email or phone.
I will send you some information via email (a copy of my contract and privacy notice) for you to read through, as well as an information sheet to be completed prior to or at the beginning of our first session. Finally I will send you details of the location where we will be meeting depending on the site you have choosen.
To make sure you have the best experience of walk and talk counselling you will need to take a small amount of time to think about how to access them.
You will need to wear appropriate clothing for the weather. All locations have well maintained footpaths so walking boots are not necessary, but shoes you will be comfortable in for an extended period. You may want to wear layers in case there is a change in weather. You may wish to bring a hat/ waterproof jacket depending on the forecast.
For our first session I will have a route we can follow and there are benches available if you need to pause on our way round. routes will be circular, so we will (hopefully) end at the place we started.
If you are travelling by car please ensure you leave enough time to park before our session begins.
